The classic Daiquiri is a classic rum cocktail made with fresh lime juice and simple syrup, no blender required. Itโ€™s light, refreshing, and delicious.

  • White rum: There is nothing to disguise the rum here (not even ice!) so choose a premium one if you can afford it. The Real McCoy, Bacardi Superior, and Plantation 3 Stars are all excellent in a Daiquiri.

  • Glassware:ย Serve your daiquiri in a cocktail glass such as a martini glass or a coupe glass.
  • Big batch:ย To make a batch of 8 cocktails, combine 16 ounces (2 cups) white rum, 6 ounces (ยพ cup) fresh lime juice, and 6 ounces (ยพ cup) simple syrup in a pitcher. Have ice, glassware, and lime wedges on hand so guests can help themselves.
  • Hemingway Daiquiri: Substitute ยฝ ounce (1 tablespoon) EACH grapefruit juice and maraschino liqueur for the simple syrup.
  • Frozen Daiquiri: To a blender, add 2 ounces (ยผ cup) white rum, ยพ ounce (1 ยฝ tablespoons, ยพ ounce (1 ยฝ tablespoons) simple syrup, and ยพ cup ice. Blend until smooth, add to a chilled coupe glass, and garnish with a lime wedge.
