This easy Red Wine Vinaigrette is simple and fabulous. It only takes 5 pantry ingredients (including salt!) for the easiest, best, restaurant-quality vinaigrette, ever.

This is the best Red Wine Vinaigrette that Iโve ever had. Itโs my go-to on a daily basis, and itโs destined to be a must-make in your kitchen, too. Itโs made with simple pantry ingredients, and it has a zesty flavor that reminds me of the โhouse dressingโ at a trusty Italian restaurant, the kind with red and white checkered tablecloths and red plastic baskets of the best garlic bread youโve ever had.
Itโs made with 5 simple ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, mustard, oregano, and salt. And even those can be tweaked if needed. As long as you follow the ratio, you can change up your vinegar or herbs and still have a delicious, easy homemade salad dressing. Store-bought dressings will never compare.
Itโs the perfect Italian red wine vinegar dressing for salads, sandwiches, and chicken wraps, or use it as a marinade for chicken or fish. Itโs easy to make a big batch and use it all week long. Or, do what I do and mix up a new batch of red wine vinegar salad dressing daily and craft an imaginary menu in your mind where itโs โsmall-batch, house-made dressing.โ Itโs so simple yet so delicious!

This is really gross I have no idea how it has 5 stars
What? I have to respectfully disagree. This is basically the only dressing I make and itโs awesome, everyone I make it for loves it. Maybe you just donโt like vinaigrette or you have rancid oil or bad vinegar? Literally made it yesterday for salad club and people wanted to drink it. I donโt know what went wrong for you, but I stand firmly behind this vinaigrette. -Meggan
Cheap red wine vinegar and olive oil makes bad dressing. Try a $15 bottle up for vinegar and $20 up on olive oil. If you get into balsamic vinegar try $40 up.
Simple and delicious. Perfect for my cold cut salad!!
Iโm so glad you liked it, thanks Natalie! -Meggan
What is the one minute cook time. I didnโt see anything having to do with this vinaigrette being heated. It sounds wonderful Iโm playing to have it tonight. Iโm a elderly male widow and Iโm learning how to do some cooking on my own thatโs healthy. Thank you
Hi Dennis, thanks for taking the time to write! Itโs to note the time to whisk all the ingredients together for the dressing. I hope you loved it! โ Meggan
Excellent!
Thanks, Carole! โ Meggan

I made this dressing and it is delicious!! Made it with a 1 tbsp Dijon instead. Pour une bonne saveur franรงaise
Yum, sounds like a great addition, Evelyn! โ Meggan
Loved this dressing but was wondering if there is a way to cut back on oil to reduce the calories while maintaining the flavor.
Hi Lillian, I havenโt tried reducing the oil amount but my first thought would to be to opt for a high-quality olive oil, which would be more flavorful, then reduce the amount of oil some in the dressing. Sorry about that โ Meggan
