Most of the recipes on this site are here because I felt compelled to write a recipe and post it.
But once in a while, I get a fantastic reader suggestion. So when I received an email with the Subject:ย โThis looks like it would be fun to make,โ followed by a link to Reddit, I got to work immediately.
During my research and development, I tried making a cheese-only version. It actually wasnโt very good and my kids wouldnโt eat it. But with pepperoni? No leftovers. Do with this information what you will.

Ingredient notes
- Refrigerated biscuits: These are the biscuits in the exploding cans you find in the refrigerator section of the grocery store. Pillsbury is a common brand. Cut the biscuits in half lengthwise so instead of 8 biscuit circles, you now have 16 biscuit circles.
Step-by-step instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick spray. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter and garlic powder. Form each biscuit half into a circle and flatten into a disk. Top with one piece of pepperoni and 1/2-ounce piece of mozzarella cheese.
- Fold the sides of the biscuit up and over the pepperoni and cheese until it is completely covered. Shape into a ball.
- Place in the prepared pan. Repeat with remaining biscuit halves, 15 pepperoni pieces, and mozzarella cheese pieces.
- When all the bread pieces have been formed and placed in the baking dish, arrange the remaining pepperoni (about 24 pieces) between the biscuits.ย Brush with garlic butter.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the biscuits are starting to brown. Remove from oven and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Turn off oven, then return bread to oven until cheese is melted, 1 to 2 minutes longer. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve withย Marinara sauceย orย Ranch dressing.

Youโre welcome, Denise! Iโm so happy you love them. Take care! ๐ โ Meggan
Can you make these ahead of time refrigerate and bake later (next day vs later the same day)?
Hi Rose, I havenโt tried it myself, but I donโt see why not. I would assemble it and wrap with plastic wrap tightly. I wouldnโt make it more than 24 hours in advance. โ Meggan
This was awesome! I made the pizza dough in my bread machine and it rose beautifully. So tasty and easy! My husband said definitely a repeat recipe.
Do you think the mozzeralla cheese sticks will work as well?
100% yes to that! Definitely. I use those in my pizza sticks too (basically mozz cheese sticks wrapped in wontons with pepperoni and deep-fried). All good things. Thank you Terry!
Thank you! Just put them in the oven ๐
any way this works with a glass dish for the oven???
Absolutely, I donโt see why not! I havenโt tried it, but itโs just like anything else โ brownies, cake mixes, whatever. You should have no issue using a glass dish. With cakes mixes, etc. the oven temperature is the same for metal and glass pans, itโs just a lower temp if you use dark or nonstick. So you should be fine! Maybe check it 5 minutes early just in case?
Hi Meggan!
Sorry for the duplicate comment, my browser froze.
Thanks, Iโll try that ๐
Oh I know what youโre talking about! Boyfriend always tells me to stop showing him recipe links+photos and rather make them, heโll be more enthusiastic when he can taste it, when for me it is enough to look at an apetizing photo ๐
This is such a genius recipe, love how uncomplicated and quick it is, and also how stunning and delicious it looks!
But you canโt find โcan of refrigerator biscuitsโ where I live, any suggestion what I could use instead?
This is such a genius idea! Love how uncomplicated and easy it is, yet looks stunning and delicious!
Any suggestion for the can of refrigerator biscuits since you canโt find those where I live. What could I use instead?
Hi Stella! Thanks for your comments. You could use any kind of store-bought or homemade pizza dough (or frozen bread dough). They are all delicious! Thanks again.
