Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion peeled, halved and sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, add onion, olive oil, and salt and pepper (I like at least 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper). Toss to combine. Transfer the onion to the basket of an air fryer and arrange in a single layer (work in batches if necessary).
  • Air fry at 400 degrees until the onions are softened with caramelized edges, about 8 to 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Notes

  1. Onion: This recipe works for brown, red, yellow, or white onions. Cut into evenly-sized pieces to ensure even cooking
  2. Yield: This Air Fryer Onions recipe makes about 1 c., enough for four 1/4-c. servings.
  3. Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
